Changeover, the former champion NZ pacer who now stands at harness racing’s Burwood Stud in Queensland, picked up his second Group 1 broodmare credit when the three-year-old Finvarra outsprinted his rivals in the $100,000 Westbred Class at Gloucester Park.
Finvarra, who has won four of his six starts and $78,226, is out of the Group 2 winner Nuala 1:55.6 ($132,449), and is her first foal.
Changeover sired important winners on both sides of the Tasman this week.
Rakasinc NZ completed back-to-back successes at Gloucester Park with an end-to-win in a 1:55.9 rate, while Lillyshelaine won for the second time at Globe Derby Park.
In New Zealand, the three-year-old Zarias won in a career-best 1:58.3 at Auckland, while Dreaminsover scored his fourth success at Addington.
