Glen LeDrew won six of his eight starts on opening day at Miami Fair as the harness racing driver made his first sulky appearances in almost four years.

The Regina-based reinsman drove Trevor Williams-trained horses in each victory, including Lisplaced in the featured Open Pace.

LeDrew spurred the gelding to the lead from the rail position and hit the quarter mile marker in :30.2. Baylor Out (Marc Fillion) made a first-over move as they swung through the second turn and put his nose in front going by the half in 1:01.3. Those two matched strides down the backstretch, but Lisplaced pulled ahead at three-quarters in 1:30.2 and headed the field of four into the stretch.

Baylor Out surrendered after a half mile on the outside, and Lisplaced completed the victory in 2:00.1. Pure Addition (Donald Howlett) picked up four and a half lengths in the final quarter to take second; Baylor Out dropped to third. The winner paid $4.30.

Lisplaced, a 10-year-old Lis Mara gelding, is 34-for-204 lifetime with $229,574 in earnings. Trevor Williams, a resident of Carman, owns in partnership with Aurel Vodon of Virden.

Williams and LeDrew swept the card’s first four dashes together with Read The Proposal (1:58.4), Farmerstrikesfame (2:04.2), Lisplaced, and Filly (2:02). They also took the seventh with Buck Rogers (2:05) and eighth with Bold N Sporty (2:00).

LeDrew stopped competing after driving in three races at Kilarney on Aug. 13, 2017

Miami Fair, a track based in Manitoba, was hosting its first races since Sep. 12, 2020. The track will be in action every Saturday until Sep. 4, 2021. First post each week will be at 3:00 p.m. CDT.
