Bec Bartley says Western Sonador has pulled up well from his impressive first-up success at Bendigo on Saturday night and it’s all systems go towards the TAB Blacks A Fake Queensland Championship.
The co-trainer and driver is planning to take the five-year-old north to tackle the Group 1 feature at Albion Park on July 24, and spoke with HRV’s Nikkita Ross this afternoon about what else might be in store for the son of Western Terror.
“There’s a lot of races, actually. I guess Kilmore Cup and Victoria Cup are probably the next ones we are eyeing off, but he has got a pretty big season,ā Bartley said.
“If he comes back from Queensland (well), I think he might get just an easy let-up and then straight back into it again. So he’s got a pretty busy time.”
Western Sonador, a three-time Group 1 placegetter, has won nine races and more than $100,000 in stakes.
