East Rutherford, NJ – In celebration of the 96th edition of America’s greatest harness race, the Hambletonian Society, Meadowlands Racetrack and Ghost Hawk Brewing Company have teamed up to provide fans and guests with Trotter’s Gold Golden Ale.
The $1 million Hambletonian will be raced Saturday afternoon, Aug. 7 as the finale to the championship meet at the Meadowlands Racetrack. Post time is 12 noon.
Labeled “Trotters Gold”, the Clifton, NJ based brewery has produced a crisp and refreshing golden ale with pilsner malt and Simcoe hops with a 4.9% abv. Decorated brewmaster Chris Sheehan brewed the ale to be “perfectly balanced with flavors of cereal grain and citrus fruit. It’ll pull you over the finish line in the winning time!”
It will be sold exclusively at the Meadowlands Racetrack starting Friday, July 9th.
The 16oz beer can label features 2020 Hambletonian winner Ramona Hill, the 15th filly in history to win the event.
“Co-owner of Ghost Hawk Tom Rachelski expressed interest in brewing a beer for us and I thought a special Hambletonian beer would be a hit,” said Rachel Ryan, Director of Marketing and Onsite Events. “Beer is more approachable for the majority of our racetrack patrons and this is an easy drinking beer that is perfect for a summer night at the track.”
Ghost Hawk Brewing Company is a collaborative effort between two Clifton natives – Tom Rachelski and Steve Bauer. Fueled with the addition of decorated Brewmaster Chris Sheehan to the project in 2018, the brewery project kicked into high gear. Ghost Hawk Brewing Company opened its doors in April of 2019.
