Darkangeldesbois F, making his second start after shipping in from France in 2021, visited his first Canadian winner’s circle on Saturday after a comprehensive victory in the feature harness racing trot.
Denis Gueriel dropped the gelding back from post six and found him a spot on the pylons in fifth. Darkangeldesbois pulled first-over shortly after the field of seven cut out a :28.4 first quarter, and he advanced to within touching distance of the lead by the half in :59.2.
Darkangeldesbois F continued marching, took command at three-quarters in 1:27.3, and maintained his speed to the finish for a 1:57 victory by four and a quarter lengths. Stormont Dundas (Reg Gassien) finished second over Ken Kan Win (Ryan Guy), who was third. The win price was $12.60.

Darkangeldesbois F, a son of Jag De Bellouet, moved to Canada prior to the 2021 season. He qualified successfully twice before finishing sixth on debut against Preferred 3 horses at Georgian Downs. The horse is six-for-50 in his career with $119,049 in earnings. Gueriel trains him for Haras De L’Estric Inc. of Dunham.
Kawartha Downs will return on Saturday, Jul. 17 in accordance with its regular Saturday schedule.
