The donation was presented by USHWA’s Chairman of the Board Shawn Wiles to museum director Janet Terhune and museum president Larry DeVan at the annual Hall of Fame banquet on July 4, 2021 in Goshen, NY.
Since 2017, USHWA has provided the Museum with $25,000 in donation dollars, and for the past ten years has graciously provided the funding needed to purchase the Hall of Fame rings presented to the Hall of Fame inductees, worth $64,000, as well as $24,000 to furnish the portraits presented to the Communicators Hall of Fame inductees, who are honored during the Hall of Fame weekend annually in Goshen, NY.
In addition, USHWA generously pays the first-year membership dues to the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame for any new member who joins USHWA and encourages continued support of the museum throughout their membership tenure.
The 2022 Dan Patch Awards Banquet, organized and presented by USHWA, will be held on
Sunday, Feb. 21 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida, where next year’s Hall of Fame inductees will be feted, along with all the 2021 equine divisional award winners, including Trotter, Pacer, and Horse of the Year.
