Fear The Dragon climbs sires’ ladder

A spare of Stakes successes by the progeny of Fear The Dragon has resulted in the North America Cup winner vaulting into sixth position on the USA two-year-old sires’ premiership.

The filly Future Ex-Wife (1:54.6) and Dragon Dry Creek (1:56.8) won both won divisions of the Buckeye Stallion Series at Northfield Park, Ohio, while the filly Dragon’s Revenge (1:54.2) led in a trifecta for Fear The Dragon in a $40,000 Ohio Sires Stakes division at the same track.

Fear The Dragon’s stock has earned $241,519 to date with 12 inside 2:00 and four in 1:55.

Associate sire Tintin In America was represented by important two-year-old winners at both gaits last weekend.

Teddy Disco out-sprinted his rivals in the $25,000 Paleface Adios Classic (Listed) at Albion Park in a career-best 1:55.2, while Lettuce Trot scored a runaway win in the $30,000 NSW Trot Final at Menangle in a sparkling 1:57.8.

Teddy Disco has won four of his five starts for $90,283 in stakes, while Lettuce Trot is unbeaten in two attempts.

Renaissance Man, who is standing his second season at Yirribee Pacing Stud, landed a double at the Gloucester Park midweek meeting with Another Snag and debutant Kobe Edward (1:57.6).

Former world champion Warrawee Needy was credited with a ‘new’ two-year-old winner in Boomer Rock (1:59.8), while the three-year-old The Mountain, who was bred and raised at Yirribee, hoisted a new lifetime mark of 1:55.6 at Wagga. The gelding has now won seven races.

Reigning NSW Sire of the Year Million Dollar Cam left a trio of fast winners in Enk Spot Shannon (1:55.6, Bathurst), Alimonie (1:58.3, Globe Derby Park) and the Canadian winner Atomic Million Am (1:59).
