STICKNEY, IL – With a growing carryover that is approaching $200,000, the Jackpot tag will be removed from the Hi-5 wager at Hawthorne Race Course on Saturday night as a mandatory payout will be put in place.

The Jackpot Hi-5 wager at Hawthorne has not been won by a single winner in over a month as the carryover has grown to $189,900. The mandatory payout on the Hi-5 will take place in Hawthorne’s final race on Saturday night, race eleven.

Race eleven on Saturday is a very evenly matched 12-horse pace for fillies and mares with an anticipated post of 11:10 PM Central time. The Hi-5 at Hawthorne is a $.20 base minimum wager. Past performances for race eleven will be available for free on the United States Trotting Association website at www.ustrotting.com. Past performances can be found on the website in the Handicapping section under the Strategic Wagering Program tab.

With the large carryover in the Hi-5, the pool for the wager is expected to exceed $500,000.

Hawthorne Race Course, Chicago’s Hometown Track, races three meets in 2021. The spring thoroughbred meet concluded on April 25. The summer Suburban Downs at Hawthorne harness meet began Friday, May 7 and races every Friday-Sunday until September 26.
