Dresden Raceway and Clinton Raceway hosted the first OSAS Days at the Races on Sunday, a harness racing event celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society.
Both programs featured an OSAS 25th Anniversary race, and the winners received gift bags from the organization that helps retired racehorses find homes after their careers have finished.
Better Watch It pulled a 16-1 upset in the Dresden OSAS tilt in 2:00.2, closing from sixth at the half for driver, trainer, breeder, and owner Greg Drew. It was the second lifetime score for the three-year-old daughter of Hes Watching.
About 150 kilometers north, another longshot captured the Clinton edition. The Reins Of Titan took an early lead at 15-1 and held it throughout to score in 2:02.3. Tyler Moore provided the steer for trainer Mauricia Miller. Ezra Andy Miller of Williamsford owns the horse, a four-year-old E L Titan gelding.
OSAS has helped to find homes for more than 1,000 since its inception in 1996, according to the organizationās website.
Grand River Raceway will host the next OSAS Day at the Races on Wednesday, Aug. 18. To view the remaining dates or find out more about OSAS, click here.
