Ontario-based harness racing driver Lorne House scored two wins on Saturday at Hiawatha Horse Park to break the four-digit career victories barrier.
House, who resides in Dutton, guided P L Orchid to a maiden-breaking score in the second race for his 999th lifetime win. It was the sophomore Sportswriter fillyās first start for trainer Lindsey Kerr and owners Ryan Clements, Ronda Clements, Lisa Wilcox, and Tyler Terashita of London.
Sunseeker, a three-year-old Sunshine Beach gelding, reached up by a head after a first-up grind to give House his 1,000th victory in the driverās final outing of the day. House reached his 1,000th victory driving for Sunseekerās owner, trainer, and breeder Greg Merlo of Glencoe.

House currently sits just below a 10 per cent career strike rate, achieving his milestone in 10,254 starts. His drives have earned $6,293,470. He made his first official start in 2001 and won for the first time on Sep. 15 of that year at Hiawatha aboard Tinkers Magic.
