True Blue Lindy asserted himself as a top freshman harness racing pacer in Ontario with a 1:51.2 victory in the $86,500 Dream Maker Pacing Series Final on Monday at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
He stepped away from the gate fastest for Jody Jamieson and held the lead into the first turn before 1/5 favourite Many Moons (James MacDonald) motored past before hitting the quarter mile pole in :26.4. Many Moons carved out a :55.2 half and 1:24.1 three-quarter time with True Blue Lindy, whom he defeated in the first leg of the series, close behind.
Jamison activated True Blue Lindy on the final turn, pulling the Always B Miki gelding to the outside and challenging the leader. True Blue Lindy glided past Many Moons easily at the top of the stretch and kept late closers Nautical Hanover (Bob McClure) and Atlas Hanover (Doug McNair) at bay to capture the series final by three quarters of a length. Nautical Hanover took place, finishing quicker than Atlas Hanover, who settled for show.
The win price was $7.40.
