OCEAN CITY, MD – The Russell Foster – Richard Hans connection swept both splits of the Maryland Standardbred Fund (foaled) stakes for freshman harness racing trotting fillies at Ocean Downs, with one trainee setting a stakes and track record.
In the $11,375 second division, Foster again took the pocket trip this time with What’s Should I Goo (Googoo Gaagaa) until the ¾ where he pulled and pulled away from the field setting a stakes and track record for two year old trotting fillies of 1:58.1, winning by 9 lengths.
Richard Hans is the trainer-owner and breeder. We Could Be Heros (Credit Winner) was up for place.
In the first $11,375 split, Gooness Gracious (Googoo Gaagaa) got the perfect pocket trip, charging down the stretch to catch the leader Gooville (Googoo Gaagaa) by a neck at the wire in the 2:02 mile for driver-owner Russell Foster and trainer-breeder Richard Hans.

Reinsman John Wagner behind Street Beats (American Ideal) parked until the quarter pole, took charge from there in the first $13,925 division for the pacing colts and geldings.
Street Beats stopped the clock in 1:59.1 with Black Cat (Badlands Hanover) taking the second spot. Wagner is the trainer for Michael Torcello and Pam Wagner and breeder Winbak Farm.
The second $13,925 split for pacing colts and geldings saw Honky Tonk Flame (Always B Miki) fly to the front from post 8 in wire to wire fashion, a neck in front of Bad And Boujee (Badlands Hanover). Jim Morand got the driving assignment from trainer Trevor Stafford for owners Lonnie Cohen and Brian Burton. The winning time was 1:57.
