Ocean City, MD – Harness racing reinsman Russell Foster was on a mission when he sent Yall Beneath Me (Googoo Gaagaa) out of the gate in the early non-wagering Maryland Sire Stakes event for 4 & 5 year old horse and gelding trotters at Ocean Downs Tuesday evening.
The pair sped away from the field by 6 lengths at the quarter pole, by 10 at the half, by 12 at the three quarters and flew home 22 lengths in front, stopping the timer in an all aged trotting track record of 1:54 at Ocean Downs.
Richard Hans owns, trains and bred Yall Beneath Me. The place spot went to Gaareat Gaazoo (Googoo Gaagaa) also bred by Richard Hans.
The 4 & 5 year old trotting mare division set a Stakes recordĀ when Callmegaga (Googoo GaaGaa) circled the field at the three quarters to stop the clock in 1:59.2 with Whitesville Peg charging down the stretch for second.
Callmegaga is owned by William B. Roberts and Graham Grace Stables, and keeping it a family affair Megan Roberts trains and Jonathan Roberts drives the winner for their father.
Stakes action continues at Ocean Downs on August 30thĀ and September 1 with the second round of preliminaries for two year old Maryland Sire Stakes.
