WASHINGTON, PA, Sept. 1, 2021 — Amelias Courage A seated Just Zip It from the gate and kept her there through the wire as she captured Wednesday’s harness racing co-feature at The Meadows, a $10,300 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace.

When Amelias Courage A clicked off the back half in 56 over a “good” surface for driver Chris Shaw, Just Zip It could not cut into the lead and fell 1-1/2 lengths short in the 1:52.4 mile. The first-over Ellasen raced well for show.

Richard Perfido trains the winner, a 7-year-old daughter of Courage Under Fire-American Dreamer who triumphed for the 22nd time in her career and lifted her lifetime bankroll to $222,415, for Win Rhythm Stables.

AMELIAS COURAGE A REPLAY

In Wednesday’s co-feature, a $10,300 Filly & Mare Conditioned Trot, Luvcrunchess moved powerfully first over and romped home in 1:55.4 for Aaron Merriman, trainer Steven Walters and owner PT Stable.

Mike Wilder and Merriman each piloted three winners on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday when the 12-race program features a $54,260,48 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5 and an $812.04 carryover in the Pick 5 (race 7). First post is 12:45 PM.
