Hunter Valley horseman Michael Formosa has had a good strike rate at Tamworth in the past and he will be hoping for that to continue today.
Formosa has a two-pronged attack aimed at the New South Wales Breeders Challenge series and both horses are fancies to win their respective qualifiers.
Formosa will first strike with last start winner Heavenly Holly in the three-year-old fillies heat (race eight).
The daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven has won three of her last five starts and has won her only start at the Tamworth track.
Formosa will want history to repeat itself as that Tamworth victory with Heavenly Holly was in a heat of the Breeders Challenge last season.
Formosa will then aim to qualify Pops Boy in the three-year-old boys heat (race nine).
The colt has had a stellar season winning seven of his 15 starts with five placings also to his credit.
