CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Home Hardware Maritime Breeders Stakes for harness racing trotters saw its share of wet weather on Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Mr Miller (Tad The Stud) was on top at every call to win the $8,000 two-year-old trot colt division over Getting Allfiredup (Marc Campbell) and King In The North (Jason Hughes). Corey MacPherson sat behind the winning trotter from his own barn for the 2:05.1 win over a track rated two-seconds off for owner Kerry Taylor of Stratford.

Rich Daydreams was much the best in the $7,360 Maritime Breeders three-year-old filly trot as the Armbro Barrister lass won in 2:04.2 for trainer-driver Kenny Arsenault and owner Wade Peconi of Stanchel. Second went to Camco Lexie (Brodie MacPhee) with Fireball Friday (Myles Heffernan Sr.) rounding out the $369.50 triactor.

Berts Legacy (Tad The Stud) put together a 40-length victory in the $7,450 Maritime Breeders division for two-year-old trot fillies in line to Paul Lanigan for trainer William Lanigan and owner Robert Honkoop of Alliston in 2:07.2. Majian Salsa (Jim Ripley) recovered from a break to finish second ahead of Camco Ramona (MacPhee).

Mr Finlay Ridge (Armbro Barrister) converted a pocket ride to victory in the $7,180 Maritime Breeders three-year-old colt trot division with a 2:01.2 win over Dusty Lane Milo (Gilles Barrieau) and A Little Go Go (Campbell). Clare MacDonald trains, drives and co-owns Mr Finlay Ridge with fellow Nova Scotia residents Arnold Rankin and Ian Tate.

Dreamfair Zenfire (Sunfire Blue Chip) came first up to win the $2,900 fillies and mares preferred pace in 1:56.4 for trainer-driver Campbell and owners Ryan and Everett MacLeod of Souris.

The Ron Matheson stable had a pair of victories as Pacific Delight won in 1:59 and Thebossisagirl was a 1:56.4 victor, both with Barrieau in the bike.

Live racing continues Saturday evening at 6 P.M. at Red Shores Charlottetown and Monday evening at 6:30 P.M. at Red Shores Summerside. For race replays and more go to Redshores.ca.
