Vernon co-features to Genois and Bailey

Jenny Lake (Steeven Genois) and Warrawee Unique (Leon Bailey) took the harness racing co-features at Vernon Downs on Saturday (September 18).

Jenny Lake ($10.00) captured the $7,000 Open Trot. Discus Hanover (Leon Bailey) shot out for the early lead but Jenny Lake drove on by and led to the quarter in :28. She used a :30 second quarter to lead to the half in :58.

First to make a move was Spoiler Alert (Frank Affrunti). He used a first-over brush to get into second. Jenny Lake was first to three-quarters in 1:26.3.

As they reached the stretch Spoiler Alert kept coming as Crossfit Mouse (Jimmy Whittemore slid through the inside while Credit List (Justin Huckabone) made it four across the track. Jenny Lake dug in and held on to win in 1:55.0. Crossfit Mouse was second with Spoiler Alert settling for third money.

JENNY LAKE REPLAY

Jenny Lake is a 5-year-old mare by RC Royalty. She is trained by Paul Minckler for owners Ed Namiotka Jr. and Carol Namiotka. It was her seventh win of the season. She now has 22 career victories.

Warrawee Unique ($4.20) is a gate-to-wire winner in the $7,000 Open Pace.

Warrawee Unique jumped right to the lead and led to the first quarter in :27. He used a :28.1 second quarter to get to the half first in :55.1.

The gelding breezed to three-quarters in 1:22.2. As they made the turn for home Rollinlikethunder (Justin Huckabone) and Chatelroll (Frank Affrunti) went all out on the chase. Warrawee Unique found another gear and motored to a lifetime best mile of 1:49.4. Rollinlikethunder held on for second as Chateroll took third honors.

WARRAWEE UNIQUE REPLAY

Warrawee Unique is a 5-year-old gelding by Sweet Lou. He is owned by the Betcha Win Stable and trained by Jeff Sorenson. It was his seventh win this season and his 14th career victory.

Bailey drove four winners on the card to give him 105 wins on the season. He got his other wins with Samson J ($13.80), Cash N Chrome ($8.30), and Cache All The Way ($4.60). Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Friday (September 24). Post time is 6:10 p.m.
