Former New Zealander Deus Ex, who scored a decisive end-to-end win at Albion Park last Saturday night (September 18) and has won his way back to a NR 88 mark, has now won two from as many starts on Australian soil.
The Changeover five-year-old gelding hoisted a fresh lifetime record of 1:54.8 over 2138 metres with his last 800 in a sizzling 55.7 seconds.
The five-year-old had won seven races as a three and four-year-old in his homeland including the Cheviot Cup and Northern Southland Summer Cup. He has earned $83,296 in stakes.
On the same night, the Changeover three-year-old Justanextragrand sat parked throughout before beating older, more experienced rivals in a career-best 1:58.2 at Globe Derby Park. It was his sixth lifetime success.
In New Zealand, Northview Peg, a four-year-old daughter of Changeover, posted her second win when she came from last at the bell to prevail in a photo finish at Invercargill.
Changeover is again standing at Burwood Stud, on Queenslandās rich Darling Downs.
