Those searching for the right mix of bloodlines, looks and potential at the upcoming Australian Pacing Gold Sale in Sydney better pay particular attention to Lot 429.
Part of the stellar Yirribee Pacing Stud collection, the youngster will enter the ring on February 28.
The striking colt is by proven American sire Western Ideal, which was 2014’s leading Two-Year-Old Pacing Sire by average earnings per foal with $35,241.
Western Ideal ranked fifth among 2014 Freshman Pacing Sires by money earnings with $1,762,027 and is the sire of the world champion Rocknroll Hanover, Vintage Master, Big Jim, and Always a Virgin.
On his maternal side, Lot 429 is from a family littered with top performers.
His dam – Precious Delight – was a star youngster, with 20 wins and earnings of $1.35million during her two and three-year-old campaigns.
Precious Delight was unbeaten from 11 starts during her debut season, which saw her crowned Canadian Two-Year-Old Of The Year. At three the daughter of Precious Bunny won nine of her 18 starts and was again awarded Three-Year-Old Pacing Filly Of The Year.
Precious Delight boasts a perfect record from five starters, with four in 1:54…her progeny include Priceless Edition ($522,000) and Rock On Precious ($157,999).
Along with being in the rich Australian Pacing Gold series, the promising colt is eligible for Australasian Breeders’ Crown, Bathurst Gold Crown and New South Wales Breeders’ Challenge.
