Down Under Winners with Carter Dalgety

Down Under harness racing star wins twice in the week and impresses on the clock.

Top performing down under pacer Jacks Legend N had a brilliant week on the racetrack last week when winning two very strong races. Both of which were in fast times and for appealing stake money. The Bettors Delight gelding has been in top form in this year’s racing season and looks in no hurry to be slowing down. He firstly lined up on Monday night at Yonkers raceway in New York. He drew post position 7 in the $48,000 Open Pace. Driver Matt Kakaly let the pacer stride out of the starting gate to settle in a comfortable position early just off the lead. Passing the half in 55.2, it was even splits from then on in as the field run the last two quarters in 27.2 and 27.4. To then see Jacks Legend N cross the wire in first place in a tight finish clocking a solid 1:50.3 around the half mile (800m) racetrack. 

A few days later he then headed to Harrah’s Philadelphia Chester where down under driver Dexter Dunn took the reins in a $16,200 Pace. Running out to the lead from gate five, the pair of down under competitors soon took a trail for a cosy trip throughout. Turning into the stretch Dunn asked Jack Legend N for an effort and the 7yo got himself in front of rivals crossing the finish line to clock a sharp time of 1:49.4 for trainer Josh Green.

A successful week for Jacks Legend N taking home $64,200 for his 6 days of racing and a 1:50.3 win around a half mile track and a 1:49.4 victory around a 5/8 mile track (1000m).
