CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Dreamfair Zenfire will control the rail on her road to a Thursday’s evening score in the main harness racing event at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. The 12-dash program kicks off at 6 P.M. at the capital oval with the $3,100 fillies and mares preferred pace taking place in race 11.
Marc Campbell trains and drives the morning line favourite Dreamfair Zenfire from post 1 for owners Ryan and Everett MacLeod of Souris. The daughter of Sunfire Blue Chip was the victim of broken equipment at the start of her latest race but has been superb the rest of the season with 11 wins so far in 2021.
Her fastest score was in an Atlantic and track record performance of 1:52.3 in August in Charlottetown for the fastest female mile ever on the Eastern Seaboard of Canada.
Fellow Campbell trainee Arc Light has post 3 with Jason Hughes in the seat this week as the Island bred mare continues her climb to $100,000 in lifetime earnings and now sits just $2,029 shy of the milestone.
Larjon Legacy will leave from post 2 with Adam Merner getting the catch driving call from trainer Bo Ford in the absence of the injured Gilles Barrieau, who regularly pilots the 20-time winner. Also in the field are Ladylike (To be driven by David Dowling) and newcomer Do U Mind (Mark Bradley).
The Post Time Picks in Thursday’s card have Peter MacPhee placing Dreamfair Zenfire on top of his tickets.
“Dreamfair Zenfire has been awesome this season and if you need more proof check out her stats. She also lands on the cones and Campbell will be aiming for the front so if they do get to the lead it could be lights out.”
Cheeky Little Minx gets top call in the $2,700 Open Trot in race 7 with Kenny Arsenault driving the Barrieau trainee for owners Wayne MacRae of Nova Scotia and Howmac Farms Ltd., of North Wiltshire. Her top foes are Daisy River (Hughes) and Freddie (Campbell).
