Monticello, NY–Monticello Raceway is gearing up to host this year’s Veterans Driving Challenge which is set for Wednesday, November 10.. These races will be a competition of former servicemen/women who are also licensed harness racing drivers.
According to Director and Program Administrator Kathy Kreiter, monies raised from the events will be once again be donated to the Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless Veterans Food Pantry
Efforts by the North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) and the Catskill Amateur Drivers Club (CADC) are once again coming to fruition. according to NAADA vice president Alan Schwartz.
The Veterans Driving Challenge is open to former US servicemen/women who are also harness drivers licensed by the USTA and/or the Canadian Trotting Association.
“If you have served in the armed forces and possess either an “A” or “P” harness license you are qualified to compete in this worthy cause,” Schwartz noted.
