Follow The Stars progeny top $1 million this season

The stock of former Australian and New Zealand 2YO Colt of the Year Follow The Stars have earned more than $1 million in prizemoney for the current season.

And, from only three crops racing, the Art Major horse has sired 72 individual winners to date and they have won almost $2.2 million – an average of $18,000 per starter.

During the 2021 season Follow The Stars has sired 11 individual two-year-old winners from a crop of 54 foals and 22 three-year-old winners from 100 foals.

Follow The Star’s oldest stock are four-year-olds and from 60 foals he has produced 31 individual winners – a 50 percent strike rate, while his second crop as three-year-olds has already produced 30 winners including the outstanding filly Black Jack Baby 1:55.9 ($211,651).

Rellim, a finalist in two Group races at Gloucester Park, became Follow The Stars’ 11th two-year-old winner for the season when he scored by open lengths at Pinjarra on November 1.

Other recent winners by Follow The Stars have been the three-year-olds Robbie Rocket, a winner in 1:56.3 at Gloucester Park, Allwood Wizard (1:59.6), Star Of Willoughby, Silver Star Lombo and Make It Quick.

Follow The Stars is standing at Medowie Lodge stud, near Newcastle, of one of New South Wales’ leading studmasters Darren Reay.
