Belinda McCarthy holds all the trumps heading into Saturday’s opening heats of the Inter Dominions in New South Wales.
The all-powerful stable will have the favourite in all three heats at Menangle, with King Of Swing, Expensive Ego and Spirit Of St Louis.
King of Swing has drawn perfectly at four and is as short as $1.25 in some markets ahead of the first heat.
In the second heat Expensive Ego will start another short-priced favourite though he has drawn 12. Others in the heat include former southerner Robyns Playboy (5) and the in-form Mach Da Vinci.
The most open pacers’ heat is expected to be the third where Spirit Of St Louis will be the favourite after Triple Eight drew the inside of the back row.
In the overall market King of Swing is at $2.20 to win the final, followed by Expensive Ego ($3.80), Triple Eight ($9), Max Delight ($17), Mach Da Vinci ($21) and Spirit Of St Louis ($21).
Kiwi trotter Majestic Man and Funky Monkey are the $3.50 favourites to win the Trotters’ Final and they will clash in the opening heat on Saturday.
Majestic Man, a multiple Group One winner across the Tasman, is coming off a Cup week that included a third to Oscar Bonavena and Bolt For Brilliance in the NZ Trotting Free For All.
He will start favourite after drawing perfectly at two and with his gate speed is set to dominate while Funky Monkey has drawn 12.
Pink Galahs, the third favourite to win the Trotters’ Final at $6, has drawn one in the night’s other heat which also includes Tough Monarch and Humble Ladd.
After this weekend the series heads to Bathurst and Newcastle before the Grand Finals at Menangle on December 11.
