Talented filly Treachery made it back-to-back Southern Cross Finals when winning the Group 1 three-year-old feature at Globe Derby on Saturday night.

The daughter of Captaintreacherous won the $50,000 time-honoured feature by more than 12 metres in a mile rate of 1:57.3.

The home turn in the Group 1 Southern Cross Final for three-year-olds at Globe Derby on Saturday night won by Treachery.

She won the two-year-old edition last season by a similar margin in a rate of 1:58.7.

Tonight’s victory gave trainer Emma Stewart a Southern Cross double at the meeting with her other Captaintreacherous filly Encipher taking out the Group 1 two-year-old final in a race record for that sex clocking 1:56.2.

Driven by Mark Billinger, that was his 10th Southern Cross success in the two-year-old ranks and his success with Treachery gave him his eighth win in the three-year-old edition.

Billinger also won tonight’s Southern Cross Final for the two-year-old trotters with Majestic Son gelding Mercenary.

However for Wayne Hill, one of South Australia’s leading drivers, his win on the Alyce Finnis-trained Ever Hoping in the two-year-old colts and geldings Southern Cross Final was his first victory in the feature.

Dani Hill drove the three-year-old boys Southern Cross Final winner Tuppence for former South Australian trainer Geoff Webster.

Wayne Hill also won the three-year-old trotters Southern Cross Final tonight with My Used To Be.

The son of Used To Me registered his ninth win in 17 starts.
