The Used To Me gelding, My Used To Be, firmly established himself as the top South Australian three-year-old trotter of the season when he effortlessly won the Southern Cross at Globe Derby Park.
A fortnight earlier he took out the SA Trotters Derby and from 13 starts this season he has won six and been four times placed. He has won five of his past six outings.
My Used To Be is the fourth classic winner sired by Used To Me, joining the 2020 Vicbred champion Dont Care, Imsettogo and She Sailz (Vicbred Silver 2YO) from only 33 foals three-years-old and older.
Used To Me also sired the recent smart Menangle winner Chateaubriant, who hoisted a fresh lifetime mark of 1:56 in winning his fifth race.
Champion sire Love You, third on the all aged stakemoney list in NZ and fourth in Australia, sired six individual two and three-year-old winners on both sides of the Tasman during the first week of December.
The two-year-olds Fremarkstilly and Brother Love scored at Geelong and Addington respectively, the former making it two for two and the latter notching his maiden success.
Tough gelding Parisian Artiste, who sat parked throughout and was only 0.4 outside the Geelong track record, led a quartet of recent three-year-old winners by Love You. Other winners were Isitmeandyou, a 1:58.2 winner on debut at Menangle, Love On Line, who won at her first attempt at Alexandra Park, Auckland, and Love Rose (Motukarara, NZ).
Love You has sired 60 winners in Australia and NZ this season and they have earned almost $1.5 million in stakemoney.
Love You and Used To Me are members of a star studded lineup of European stallions at Haras Des Trotteurs, Cardigan, near Ballarat (Vic.).
