Bettor’s Delight filly takes Group One feature

Bettor’s Delight filly True Fantasy has taken out the $138,000 (Gr1) Sires Stakes Fillies Championship for harness racing trainer/driver Mark Purdon at Alexandra Park tonight.

True Fantasy was beaten to the lead on the first turn by Remember Me and driver Blair Orange, but landed a good spot on the outer for the duration of the race. Driver Mark Purdon then launched a run in the home straight and comfortably grabbed a deserved victory.

Remember Me battled on for a brave second and Lady Of The Light rushed home when clear for third.

The race was run in a slick 2-39.5 a mile rate of 1-56.6 for the 2200m distance.

Earlier in the night Chimichurri (Bettor’s Delight) won the the Breckon Farms Northern Juvenile Classic Mobile pace for driver Benjamin Butcher and trainers Steve & Amanda Telfer.

Chimichurri has now won three of his seven career starts and looks destined for bigger things.
