Follow The Stars’ record year

The Art Major horse Follow The Stars, who is now standing at Medowie Lodge stud, near Newcastle, has enjoyed his best ever season in 2021.

The former NZ and Australian 2YO Colt of the Year sired 58 individual winners from 107 starters and they won 138 races and $1,233,570 in progeny earnings, of which his two and three-year-olds earned $876,184.

During the season Follow The Stars sired 14 two-year-old winners and 27 three-year-olds.

The biggest contributors to his tally were the multiple Group placegetter Black Jack Baby ($100,931), the WA Champagne Classic winner Bushwacked ($54,898), the Group placegetter Our Star Billing ($46,035), Star Of The Class ($45,274), Star Of Willoughby ($39,921), the Listed winner Follow The Music ($37,466) and Per Ardua Ad Astra ($34,071).

In all, Follow The Stars has sired 81 individual winners from 126 starters for $2.3 million – an average of $18,629 per starter – from just three racing crops.
