On North American tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.
In Harnesslink Race Replays Of The Week we bring you a snapshot into the very best contests from around the harness racing tracks of the world.
Here’s our latest offering from the last seven days (week ended 17th January)
AUSTRALIAN FEATURE RACE
Amanda Rando covered the running of the Shepparton Cup late last week. The smart field had a real interest to it with the return of star pacer Lochinvar Art. He wasn’t to have all his own way though with the talented Spirit Of St Louis proving he’s right up there with the best of them!
NEW ZEALAND FEATURE RACE
The Northern Southland Cup was run last week. Fittingly, for this time of the year, It was Laver who proved too strong in the pacing feature. The tough Geoff and James Dunn trained runner is known for his front running displays and this feature was no different with some slick late sectionals ensuring a easy victory.
NEW ZEALAND FEATURE RACE
The Northland Southland Cup was run and won last week. Fittingly, for this time of the year, Laver proved once again that he’s a tough horse to beat with a smart victory from the front of the field. Out of star mare Venus Serena Laver brings his career earnings to just under $150’000 with the win.
We’ll be back next week with another look into the Race Replays of the Week.
