700,000€ Prix de Cornulier to Flamme du Goutier

The 1.8/1 favorite Flamme du Goutier (7f Ready Cash-Utopie du Goutier) rallied from the clouds to win the 2022 edition of the Prix du Cornulier (purse 700,000€, Gr. I monte International, 2700 meters) for jockey Antoine Wiels.

Thierry Duvaldestin, once the conditioner of Ready Cash, trains the now 15-time winner of 1,059,740€ for Ecurie Saint Martin.

Flamme led a group of five mares to the line. Second was 6.7/1 Granvillaise Bleue (6f Jag de Bellouet-Lady de Brevol) for Camille Levesque, in the irons for trainer Pierre Levesque and owner/breeder Michel Gallier. Third home was 17/1 Etoile de Bruyere (8f Kenor de Cosse) and jockey Adrien Lamy for owner/trainer Charles Dreux.

16/1 Bahia Quesnot (11f Scipion du Goutier), 6.9/1 Gladys des Plaines (6f Opus Viervil), 13/1 Bilibili (11m Niky), a two-time winner of this classic, and 24/1 Zarenne FAS (7m Varenne) completed the top seven.

Ideale du Chene (4f Bird Parker-Royale du Chene), off at 1.9/1 odds, was an impressive winner of the monte Prix de Pardieu (Gr. II, purse 120,000€, 2175 meters for four year olds) Saturday afternoon at Paris-Vincennes.

P.Ph. Ploquin was the winning jockey for trainer Julien Le Mer and owner Claude Guedj as the winner secured her fifth career victory now for 318,050€ earned. 9/1 Indigo du Poret (4m Dollar Macker-Une Pluie de Poret) took second money with Eric Raffin aboard for trainer Y.A. Briand and owner Jose Druet.

The 9/10 favoirte Ici C’est Paris (4m Dollar Macker-Blue Valentine) captured third for jockey David Thomain and owner/trainer/breeder Philippe Allaire.

The winner sire, Bird Parker, is a son of Ready Cash that won over 2,125,000€ and rival Dollar Macker, a son of Saxo de Vandel, won almost 732,000€.
