III Prix du Luxembourg (purse 100,000€, International 5-11 year olds that are winners of 160,000€-800,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 16 starters) at the Hippodrome Pari-Vincennes saw the even-money favorite Elie de Beaufour (8g Royal Dream-Pignata) score in 1.10.4kr off fast fractions (1.07kr at the 1500 meters to go mark; 1.09.1kr at the 1000; 1.10.3kr with 500 remaining).
This was the third straight victory for the Jean Michel Bazire trained and reined performer that Eric Levallois owns. Elie de Beaufour now sports 25 career wins for 616,600€ earned.
The 33/1 Alcoy (8m Ready Cash-Divann) was second for Christophe Martens and 4/1 Feliciano (7m Ready Cash-Ravanella) was third for David Thomain. Gareth Boko (9m Make It Happen) landed fourth for Eric Raffin at 10/1 odds ahead of 112/1 Calle Crown (8m Great Challenger) and Pierre Vercruysse. Global Trustworthy was sixth and Express Jet finished seventh.
The Prix Roquepine (Gr. II, International for three year old fillies, purse 120,000€, 2700 meters) saw 2.8/1 odds Jazzy Perrine (3f Django Riff-Trendy Perrine) score in 1.15.4kt for Eric Raffin.
This was the second straight victory for the Tomas Malmqvist trainee owned by Ecurie Hunter Valley. Jazzy won for fourth time in her career now for 203,250€ earned.
The 18/1 Joyful Diva (3f Sam Bourbon-Cash Diva) rallied for second with Franck Ouvrie teaming for trainer Jarmo Niskanen. 116/1 Diamante Grif (3f Nad Al Sheba-Imona Gil SM) held third for Mario Minopoli Jr. and trainer Salvatore Minopoli. 7/1 Jet Set Bond (3f Prodigious) and 22/1 Delicious Gar (3f Father Patrick) completed the top five.
Tomorrow features the 2022 edition of the 1,000,000€ Prix d’Amerique with a wide-open field of 18 at the start.
