Lit De Rose returns to winning form

With a first-over move against pacesetter Jody, Lit De Rose and driver/trainer Pat Lachance were able to grind it out in capturing the $39,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Yonkers Raceway Thursday.

Jody and driver George Brennan left from post four and took command of the 8^th race feature to the opening quarter mile in :28.1 with Rockn Philly (Scott Zeron) sitting the pocket-seat as they raced past the half mile in :58.3.

It was in the backstretch at the three-quarters in 1:27.1 that Lachance came first-up with the race favorite Lit De Rose and was second by a nose at the top of the stretch.

Lit De Rose came on in the stretch to win by one length in 1:55.4 over Rockn Philly with Jody third.

It was the second win in four starts this year for Lit De Rose. She is a seven-year-old mare by Leader Bayama. She was bred and is owned by Guy Corbeil of Quebec and paid $4.20 to win.
