The field for the $250,000 Chariots Of Fire at Menangle on February 19 has been finalised following tonight’s sensational Group 2 Paleface Adios Stakes.
Victorian pacer Rock N Roll Doo caused the ultimate upset in the final Chariots Of Fire qualifier tonight, not only overcoming his more fancied rivals but also a wide draw.
The son of Rock N Roll Heaven started at odds of $26 but that did not stop the four-year-old from racing outside the leader, race favourite Krug, and beating him.
Driven by Luke McCarthy for trainer Michael Stanley, Rock N Roll Doo made amends for galloping at the start of last week’s 4YO Bonanza at Melton where he flashed home to finish fourth to Bondi Lockdown.
Sectionals of tonight’s qualifier are unavailable, however, Chevron Art for trainer Jason Grimson finished third, Better Eclipse in fourth and Beyond Delight in fifth, all earning an invitation to the Chariots Of Fire next week.
