400,000€ Prix de France won in record time

Vivid Wise As (8m Yankee Glide-Temple Blue Chip), off at 2.6/1 odds from post one, rallied past then leading Zacon Gio to win the Prix de France (Gr. I International, purse 400,000€, 2100 meters autostart) for reinsman Matthieu Abrivard.

Alessandro Gocciadoro trains the now nine-time winner in France for career earnings of 1,884,703€. Race time was 1.09.7kr, a new race record, off fast fractions (1.05.6kr at the 1500 meters to go mark; 1.07.6kr at the 1000; 1.09.7kr with 500 remaining). Scuderia Bivans Srl owns the winner.

The 21/1 Delia du Pommereux (9f Niky) was second for David Thomain, teaming for trainer Sylvain Roger and owner Noel Lolic. The 5.1/1 odds Zacon Gio (7m Ruty Grif) held third for trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire after following first over Davidson du Pont until jetting to the front at top of stretch. He was unable to hold on under heavy urging.

Power (6m Googoo Gaagaa) was fourth at 39/1 odds with Eric Raffin up for Robert Bergh. 57/1 Vitruvio (8m Adrian Chip) was fifth for trainer/driver Gocciadoro. Fakir du Lorault and Chica de Joudes completed the top seven.

Etonnant and Express Jet were miscue dq’s. Bahia Quesnot was a scratch and post-race the other 11-year-old mare Billie de Montfort said her goodbye to the Paris-Vincennes audience. This daughter of Jasmin de Flore is owned and bred by Philippe Dauphin and she earned 2,562,358€ from 23 victories. She has a 1.09.2kr speed mark.

The Prix Ovide Moulinet (Gr. II, purse 120,000€, 2700 meters for five year olds) at Paris-Vincennes today saw the 2.8/1 odds Hooker Berry (5m Booster Winner-Osaka Berry) rally for the 1.12.9kr timed victory with trainer Jean Michel Bazire at the lines. Owned and bred by Michel Aldenise, Hooker Berry now sports eight career wins for 708,720€ earned.

Hohneck (5m Royal Dream-Caranca) held second at 7/10 odds with Francois Lagadeuc up for owner/trainer Philippe Allaire. This J.P. Guay bred performer was fifth in the Amerique. Hussard du Landret (5m Bird Parker) was third for trainer/driver Benoit Robin. 16/1 Hokkaido Jiel (5m Brillantissime) and 107/1 Harvest de Bulier (5m Charly du Noyer) completed the top five

Today’s Prix de France card at Paris-Vincennes was a good one that began with the Gr. II Prix Louis le Bourg (purse 120,000€. 2850 meters for monte four year olds). Here the 1.13.8kr timed impressive winner was 6.2/1 odds Indigo du Poret (4m Dollar Macker-Une Pluie du Porey), ridden by Eric Raffin for trainer Yannick Alain Briand and owner Jose Davet. The winner raised his career earnings to 228,630€with this, his fifth career victory.

The 3.2/1 Ici C’est Paris (4m Dollar Macker-Blue Valentine) was second with David Thomain in the irons for breeder/owner/trainer Philippe Allaire. Ideale du Chene (4f Bird Parker-Royale du Chene) was third as the 6/10 favorite with P.Ph Ploquin up for trainer Julien Le Mer and owner Claude Guedj.

The Gr. III Prix de Rouen (purse 90,000€, 2850 meters for European six year olds) went to 5.4/1 Gamay de L’Iton (6m Bird Parker-Story de L’Iton) with Eric Raffin the pilot for trainer Hughes Levesque and Ecurie de L’Iton.  Race time was 1.13.7kr. Usain Toll (6g  Googoo Gaagaa-Cotton Waste) took second with Gabriele Gelormini up for trainer H.E. Bondo. 45/1 Gipson Creek (6m Rieussec) was third for reinsman P.Y. Verva and breeder/owner/trainee Nathalie Gonin.

Today was another groupe level race card in which relatively new sires were on stage – Booster Winner (11m Love You, a winner of 997,650€); Bird Parker (11m Ready Cash, a career winner of 2,125,905€); and Dollar Macker (9m Saxo de Vandel-Salt Lake City, a 731,810€ lifetime winner).

Jean Michel Bazire won three on today’s card raced before a fine crowd.
