$1million Miracle Mile field announced

26 February 2022
in Australia, International

Chariots Of Fire winner Better Eclipse was the second horse to gain an invitation to the 2022 Miracle Mile.

It wouldn’t be the Miracle Mile without a few surprises.

And the final field for the $1 million Garrards Miracle Mile did produce a few minor shocks when it was announced at Tabcorp Park Menangle tonight.

The inclusion of Victorian Bondi Lockdown probably wasn’t a great surprise.

But selectors felt Inter Dominion runner-up Expensive Ego, even though he was beaten tonight, had done enough to earn the final spot in the eight-horse field.

The final field for Australasia’s greatest sprint is:

Mach Dan (Mach Three)

Better Eclipse (Betterthancheddar)

Spirit Of St Louis (Sweet Lou)

Majestic Cruiser (Art Major)

King Of Swing (Rocknroll Hanover)

Bundoran (Lincoln Royal)

Bondi Lockdown

Expensive Ego (Rocknroll Heaven)

(1st em) Jay OK (A Rocknroll Dance)

(2nd em) Like A Wildfire (Big Jim)
