Race replays of the week

On North American harness racing tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.

NEW ZEALAND FEATURE 

Alexandra Park played host to a number of Group 2 races last Friday with the impressive Akuta returning to the winners circle in the Alabar 3yo Classic. The race proved to be a Mark Purdon and Hayden Cullen benefit with the stable training the first four past the post. CANADIAN FEATURE 

Who doesn’t like seeing Jimmy Freight spread his wings and master them all?  The grand performer once again took out the Preferred-Handicap Pace on Saturday at Woodbine Mohawk Park and he did it in fine style unleashing a sprint down the outer once clear to win by the barest of margins.
