Leading NSW breeders back Bathurst sale

Many of New South Wales’ most successful breeders have thrown their support behind the Bathurst Gold Crown Yearling Sale to be held on Sunday, March 20 at 11am at Bathurst Paceway.

Paul Carmody, the studmaster of Lochend Stud, Maitland, has the largest draft of 10 including six colts and three fillies by Lochinvar Art’s sire Modern Art.

Yirribee Pacing Stud, Wagga has entered eight yearlings including progeny of resident stallions Tintin In America, Warrawee Needy, Lennytheshark, Million Dollar Cam and Lombo Pocket Watch.

Golden Gait Stud, of Canowindra, long-time supporters of the Bathurst sale, has entered eight yearlings – five by For A Reason and three by Bling It On, while Michael Taylor’s five prong draft includes an Art Major colt and a filly and trotting stock by Majestic Son, Father Patrick and Great Success.

Other prominent breeders with multiple representation are Tony Dumesny, who has fillies by Captaintreacherous, Vincent, Alta Christiano and Hurrikane Kingcole; Luke Primmer’s Tipperary Equine, Young, who has two colts and a filly by Alta Christiano, and John Coffey, with fillies by Tintin In America and Warrawee Needy.

The sale also features stock from NSW breeders Brooklyn Lodge, Ben Settree, Mal Moody, Denis and Jo Howe and family, Tracey Lamb, Richard Fraser, John and Bruce Dumesny, David, Rachael and Luke Micallef, Grant Fuller, Richard Camilleri, Peter Schiller, Matthew Leary, Johnathon McAlister, Kaitlin Chapple and Lynette Freeman, Victorians Graeme Gourley and Bruce Phillips and Tasmanian Shane Hawes.

Yearlings are eligible for the Sales Graduate Pace in 2023, the Bathurst Gold Crown, NSW Breeders Challenge and True Blue, Vicbred and Vicbred Platinum, Vic. Need For Speed, QBred and the Breeders Crown.
