This trotter is a Gun

The Love You four-year-old Love Gun further underlined his potential when he scored a runaway win at Bendigo on Wednesday night (March 9).

After racing midfield most of the way, the David Aiken trained entire was switched into overdrive half-way down the back straight and quickly rounded up his rivals to win by 15.2 metres.

He carved out his last 800 metres in 58.5 seconds under a hand drive by Josh Aiken.

Love Gun won at his previous start at Melton a fortnight earlier.

He is one of the first commercial crop of Love You in 2017. From 51 foals, he has had 32 starters for 18 winners and nine placegetters.

Love You was also represented by the three-year-old Mr Love, who notched his second success at Addington, New Zealand.

Another son of Coktail Jet, The Best Madrik, sired a winner in Afterburner, who outsprinted his opposition to win for the third time at Winton, in NZ’s deep south.

Love You and The Best Madrik are members of the Haras Des Trotteurs’ sire roster at Ballarat (Vic.).
