Oamaru harness racing trainer Phil Williamson was not surprised to see Miss Crazed return to winning form at the Wairio Trotting Club meeting at Winton today.
Her form line was looking poor, but there were reasons.
āShe went poor last start and when we investigated she had a virus. So we backed off and sheās come back like her old self,ā said Phil.

āSheās a capable mare but sheās getting on a tough mark. Nothing is easy for her now. They had to trot 3-04 today which is a good trot.ā
Returning
Miss Crazed is owned by Woodlands Stud and is by Crazed out of the Pegasus Spur mare Miss Pegasus whoās a daughter of champion mare Merinai.
āIām pleased for them. Sheāll probably go to the stud next year. Iād love to get a mile race for her because sheād have no problems going under two minutes.ā
Miss Pegasus won nine races including seven for the Williamsons.
āShe was a lovely mare too. This mare is not quite as good as her. Her size is a wee bit against her because when theyāre that big it takes a while for them to mature.ā

In todayās 2400 metre trot Miss Crazed was driven by Kerryn Tomlinson and she settled well off the early rush. When Donāt Ask improved three wide with 700 metres to run Tomlinson jumped on the back to get a cart home, but was left three wide inside the last 500 metres.

It was the mareās first win since winning on the grass at Wingatui at the beginning of December.
Meanwhile Allamericanlover added to the list of candidates for next monthās Southern Belle Speed Series Final when she won her mile in a respectable 1-53.0.
