Increased purses for 2022 Maryland Sire Stakes

The Maryland Standardbred Race Fund announces the highest total purses to be distributed in our stakes program since 2001. The Maryland Racing Commission approved a budget of approximately $2.1 million.

The Maryland Sire Stakes for 2- and 3-year-old received the largest increase with the finals going for $75,000 for each age/sex/gait at both Ocean Downs and Rosecroft and all preliminaries will be going for $10,000.

The 4- & 5-year-old Open stakes will race for a total of $100,000 split over their 4 races and the Maryland Standardbred Fund (foaled) Stakes will see a slight increase also.
