Northfield, Ohio—Harness racing driver Don Sherman knows when he has the best horse in the race the front end is the place to be. And that’s exactly where Sherman put odds-on favorite Dynamic Edge in the $7500 GLADA trot tonight at Northfield Park and the veteran trotter cruised to a 4-1/2 length triumph. in 1:56.1
When the starter turned the field loose Dynamic Edge zipped the lead as Steve Oldford took a seat in the two-hole with Pepin Coolie and they were one-two by the quarter in :28.3. The order remained the same by the half in :58.4 and the leaders were still one-two as they trotted by the three-quarters in 1:27.4. But when they rounded the final turn and headed for home Sherman’s charge began to pull away and Dynamic Edge cruised to an easy 4-1/2 length triumph. Pepin Coolie finished second and So Wishful and driver Larry Ferrari took home the show dough.
