All major Thoroughbred online publications have reported that January 9, 2023, is the date that Jason Servis, the Thoroughbred trainer of Maximum Security, will go to trial for his alleged involvement in the doping scandal that involves both Thoroughbred and harness racing individuals.
Alexander Chan, a veterinarian who was indicted at the same time as Servis, will also be tried on that date.Ā Trial dates for Erica Garcia a veterinarian, and Michael Tannuzzo, who were also named in the original indictment with Servis and Chan, have trial dates of September 12, 2022.
The pretrial conference for both Garcia and Tannuzzo begins 4 days earlier on September 8th.
Originally Judge Vyskocil indicated that Mr. Servis and several of the other defendants would be tried in the fall of 2022, but Covid restrictions have made scheduling difficult.
Mr. Servisā attorney Rita Glavin has scheduling conflicts as well.Ā Ā She represents a former Trump CEO charged with fraud by the State Court of NY.Ā That trial is expected to commence this summer.
