70 horses adopted in six weeks at SRF

Cream Ridge, NJ – The Standardbred Retirement Foundation, (SRF) in spite of the unusually cold and rainy weather, has proudly secured seventy new homes in just six weeks! These horses now have so much love around them, and unique to SRF, being the largest organization dedicated to Standardbreds, every one of these horses has the SRF as their guardian for life.

The vast majority of these lucky ones adopted from April 1 through May 15, 2022, are horses SRF donors rescued from the slaughter line over the past several months.

Three are getting a whole lot of fussing over in therapeutic riding programs; two just brought their foal into the world, one expected, one was a complete surprise just two days into her new home. Three are in foster homes. One was in a fabulous foster home for nearly a year and giving her up brought tears, she already has a new foster to nurse to health, Western Olympian. One had a luxury ride from NJ to Florida to get to his heavenly abode, another from NJ to Vermont, and most of the others are spending their days on trails enjoying nature like they have never seen before.

SRF thanks its wonderful donors for giving these horses a life, a home full of love, and the support so SRF will be there should an adopter come on difficult times. Here are the 70, their ages are also noted!
