After a bit of lead changing by the opening quarter mile, Remember Titans and driver Jay Randall held the field at bay at odds of 8-1 in going coast-to-coast to capture the $15,000 Open Handicap Trot Sunday (May 22) at Saratoga Raceway.
The 6th race feature got underway with Remember Titans and Randall shooting to the early lead only to be challenged and passed by Squee Hanover (Billy Dobson), by the first quarter in :27.3.
As Randall came right back to the front with Remember Titans, such was not the fate of race favorite Dewey Arnold and driver Jim Devaux. They had floated out from post eight, was second-over to Squee Hanover at the quarter and was now parked first-over for their lives to the half mile in :56.4 and through the three-quarters in 1:25.1.
Remember Titans kept his one and three-quarter length lead over Dewey Arnold from the top of the stretch across the finish line in 1:54.1. Squee Hanover was third.
