February 22, 2015 – Ecurie Quick Star’s bred and owned Up And Quick (7m Buvetier d’Aunou – Fichtre -Quitron du Coral) secured today’s third Triple Crown event at Paris-Vincennes.
The 7/10 favorite drew off comfortably coming off the last bend for J-M Bazire and held safe Anna Mix (5f Ludo de Castelle – Ires) handled by Franck Nivard and Texas Charm (8m Cygnus d’Odyssee – Kamela Charm) with Julien Dubois aboard.
Tiego d’Etang (8m Chaillot – Harolene) was home fourth for trainer/driver Christian Bigeon. Villeroi, Severino and Roxane Griff were disqualified for miscues. The winner, trained at Grobois by Franck Leblanc, also trainer of Anna Mix, won for the 12th time in a career that has not produced earnings of €1,921.060.
The Gr. I International UET Master Series Prix de Paris carried a purse of €400,000 with 45% to the winner in this 4150 meter test (2-5/8 miles).
Up And Quick was clocked in 5:05.19, a 1.13.5kr rate (1:58.26 mile rate). Bazire kept the winner well placed throughout after gaining an early advantage. He yielded twice before vacating the pocket and riding first up with Texas Charm following him. In the lane there was no serious challenge to the winner after steady fractions (1.14.7kr at 1500, 1.14kr at 1000 and at 500 mark).
