WASHINGTON, PA, June 10, 2022 — Lockbox (Wishing Stone) found the key to harness racing victory in the Lightning Lane, pouring through to capture Friday’s $16,000 Open Handicap Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Lockbox grabbed the early lead but yielded to the pocket when Perlucky challenged.
When Robbie Wrenn, Jr., guided him inside in the lane, the 4-year-old gelding had all the trot and scored in 1:54. Barn Hall came off the cones to secure second, 3/4 lengths back, while Perlucky saved show.
Ron Burke trains Lockbox, who extended his career bankroll to $311,337, for Burke Racing Stable, Purnel & Libby LLC, J&T Silva Stables LLC and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
