CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The preferred harness racing pace saw an early tussle up front and Rose Run Quest (If I Can Dream) capitalized on the action to win Saturday evening (June 11) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Rose Run Quest in prior win at Red Shores

The early moments of the $3,300 preferred pace saw rail-sitter Legendary Ron (Dale Spence) guard the pylons while stringing Screen Test (Corey MacPherson) to the quarter in 27.1.

The heavily favoured Time To Dance (Marc Campbell) then came calling and cleared heading to the half but had to trip the timer in 56.1 to gain the lead. Driver Adam Merner then saw his opportunity as he moved the fresh Rose Run Quest first-up from fourth to take on the pace setters and slug his way past Time To Dance at the three-quarters of 1:26.

Rose Run Quest would go on to win by a length in 1:55.1 over Screen Test with Legendary Ron completing the $115.75 triactor ticket. Blair Hansen shares ownership of the winning Melissa Rennie trained horse with co-owners Carl Hansen and Isaac Schurman.

ROSE RUN QUEST REPLAY

Trainer Rennie and driver Merner clicked earlier on the program as Nolans Magic Shui won in 2:00.1 for a maiden breaking performance.

Clyde River native Brodie MacPhee had the hot hands on the program with a driving triple. Blue Monk had a stellar win in race 4 in 1:54.4 with MacPhee in the bike for trainer Jay Noye, while the driver also steered Black Dan to an open-length romp in 1:56.3 for trainer Ryan Perrot and Usurper came up the passing lane to win race 7 in 1:55.1 from the Earl Smith Stable.

Live racing continues Thursday and Saturday at Red Shores Charlottetown and Friday evening at Red Shores Summerside with 6:30 P.M. AST post times for all programs.
