Remembers Titans doesn’t hold back in Open

Remember Titans (E L Titan) held nothing back as he steamrolled his way to the front of the pack and never looked back en route to a half length triumph in the $16,000 Open Handicap Trot at Saratoga Harness Sunday (June 26).

After taking the lead away from Squee Hanover (Billy Dobson) at the opening quarter mile in :27.4, Remember Titans and driver Jay Randall cut fractions of :57.4 to the half mile.

Then it was Dewey Arnold and driver Jim Devaux coming first over but they were unable to collar Remember Titans by the three-quarters in 1:25.4.

With a comfortable lead coming down the stretch, Remember Titans was able to hold off the pocket-sitting Squee Hanover to win by a half of a length in 1:54.1. Dewey Arnold was third.

It was the ninth win this year for Remember Titans. He is trained by Jackie Greene for the Kellogg Racing Stable and Jackie Greene Stables. He paid $9.10 to win.
