Plains, Pa.– The front-end was the place to be in both $11,000 American Harness Drivers Club’s trots today at Mohegan Sun Pocono. John Calabrese won his harness racing division on the engine with Innisfallen (Explosive Matter) in 1:57.1 and Jonathan Ahle used the front-end route to score with TSM Photo Bugger (S J`s Photo) in 1:54.3.
In his split Calabrese hustled Innisfallen to the lead in :28.1 and they kept Joe Faraldo and Chrome Package on the limb past the half before Faraldo’s trotter began to fade. When the field headed to the three quarters Innisfallen had a five length lead as the timer flashed 1:26.3. When he headed for home Calabrese tucked his whip awayĀ and Innisfallen cruisedĀ home an easy 5-1/2 length winner in 1:57.1. Tony Veruso hustled Muay Hanover home second best and Mike Polansky garnered the show dough with My Big Kadillac.

Paul Fusco and Bramdeo Singh own InnisfallenĀ who is also trained by Fusco. He paid $6.00 for the win.
In the other division Jonathan Ahle was up behind TSM Photo Bugger and they showed the way past the quarter in :27.2 and they were comfortable on the lead from there. After the half was trotted in :56.3 Tidquist (Tony Beltrami) and Chief Justice joined the fray but TSM Photo Bugger was stillĀ in command and got first call at the three quarters in 1:25.3. However, in the lane Ahle’s trotter began to pull away and heĀ cruised home an easy 3-1/2 length winner 1:54.3. Chief Justice finished second andĀ Tidquist garnered the show dough.
The winner–a 15-year-old SJ’s Photo gelding–is owned and trained by Karen Fread. He pid $4.20 for the win.
