Funatthebeach N has fun in the Open

Funatthebeach N (Somebeachsomewere) had plenty of harness racing fun at Yonkers Raceway Monday evening (July 18) as the race favorite led from start to finish in capturing the $39,000 Open Handicap Pace.

With Jordan Stratton in the sulky, Funatthebeach N started the 9^th race feature having to grind it out for early control over Movin’ On Up (Austin Siegelman) by the first quarter in :26.4.

They raced single file past the half mile in :55.2 before No Lou Zing (Joe Bongiorno) came first-over in the backstretch with Pat Stanley N (Corey Callahan) following the outside flow.

Going by the three-quarter in 1:23.1, Stratton and Funatthebeach N were in full control around the final turn and then they pulled away in the stretch for a three-length triumph in 1:50.4. No Lou Zing was second with Movin’ On Up third.

FUNATTHEBEACH N REPLAY

For the eight-year-old gelding it was his eighth win this year. He is trained by Jeff Gillis for owner Mark Ford. He paid $3.60 to win.
